04 09 2005 - The Fairfield Horseshoe with Paul D

Low Pike, High Pike, Dove Crag, Hart Crag, Fairfield, Great Rigg and Heron Pike and Nab Scar

This was a hot day in late summer with lots of blue sky and little cloud. Long distance views were hazy but otherwise excellent. The walk was hard work but rewarding. We were pretty exhausted as we trudged back to the start of the walk with aching limbs but there was no doubting that it had been a fantastic trek on a fabulous day - one that ranks with the best. We concluded the day relaxing with a couple of pints of Theakston's at the Royal Oak in Ambleside.
