Next Walk

03-09-2018 - Grike, Crag Fell and Whoap with Richard.

I was looking forward to this walk which I had first done just over three years ago when there had been some good views into Ennerdale. Today, sadly, once we were on the tops there was extensive cloud cover  and visibility was very limited. The search for Whoap's summit proved to be problematic in the mist and we initially climbed too far to the south east - probably caused by my poor map reading - and we then had to back track for some distance, leaving me feeling a little disoriented. Having eventually reached Whoap's summit and with visibility still not good we decided to curtail the walk and leave the visit to Lank Rigg for another day.
