The Lake District Mountains |
01/08/2018 - Steel Fell, Calf Crag, Gibson Knott and Helm Crag with Alison, Joe, Ana and Jack. We planned to do the Fairfield Horseshoe today to get everybody eight Wainwrights but the weather forecast indicated a high chance of rain so we thought this lower level walk offering 4 Wainwrights might be a better option. I was only here about a month ago so at least I was able to remember the route, more or less. From about half way round we had a lot of rain and by the time we arrived back at the car at Town End Farm we were all well soaked again but incredibly cheerful. Everybody felt a real sense of satisfaction and achievement.
