30 12 2008 - Pen-y-ghent with Joe |
||
It was dull and cloudy as we drove up to Horton in Ribblesdale and cold as we set off along the road towards the church. The sun came out almost immediately, however, and we had good weather and blue sky for almost all of walk. Frost and ice covered the top of Pen-y-ghent but there was virtually no wind at all at the crowded summit where we paused for refreshments. It was a thoroughly enjoyable walk in excellent conditions. Joe even had a little jig on the way down. |

Climbing towards Pen-y-ghent's summit
Frost covered rocks as we gain height
And looking back down as we near the top

Glancing back to a very weak looking sun as we descend
Still some blue sky in the opposite direction
