More rain was expected but looked likely to relent a little in the afternoon so we decided to go for the relatively short walk to the summit of Stone Arthur from Grasmere. We parked on A591 just outside the village which is a perfect starting point for the walk. Thankfully we were spared more rain and an enjoyable afternoon was rounded off with a stroll around Grasmere village and a welcome drink in the garden of Tweedies Bar.
