01-09-2022 - Bannerdale Crags and Bowscale Fell with Alison, Ana and Jack

Today's walk started from the community Hall at Mungrisdale where unlimited parking is still available for a £2 donation. We followed the track through the village and took the path that climbs up the south side of The Tongue. After pausing for sandwiches and chocolate biscuits on Bannerdale Crags we doubled back  slightly and headed for the summit of Bowscale Fell. The path back down to Mungrisdale over Raven Crag has been cleared of much of the overgrown gorse but it's steep and crumbly underfoot in places and can be difficult to negotiate at times.
