Walk completed June 1987 with Richard. The walk started with us rescuing a sheep that had got its hind leg trapped in a barbed wire fence which it had tried to leap over. We then followed the path that leaves Burtness Wood and runs parallel with Comb Beck for a short distance. Instead of following this path as it curves to the summit of High Stile we crossed the beck and climbed steeply up towards Sheepbone Buttress. From here we found our way via Sheepbone Rake to the top of High Crag and then to High Stile and Red pike.
